Career
Janhvi Kapoor, inspired by her mother, wanted to make her career in Bollywood from her childhood. She also had deep interest towards modelling and dancing.
Her first offer came from South Movie Industry. She was offered a role against Superstar Mahesh Babu, but she chose a Hindi film. Her Bollywood debut came in Karan Johar’s film “Dhadak” in 2018.
She was cast opposite to another debutant Ishaan Khattar in the movie “Dhadak“. She won Zee Cine Awards for Best Female Debut in 2017 for Dhadak.
Though Janhvi Kapoor’s acting in Dhadak movie was not liked by film critics, the film was a commercial hit. After dismal box office collection, it went on to gross 10 million Indian Rupees worldwide.
She also worked in Horror Film Ghost Stories, directed by Karan Johar in 2020. Janhvi played the role of Sameera in the movie.
