Both inside and outside the old town, Fuengirola has much to offer in terms of shopping; if you decide to buy property for sale in Fuengirola, Fuengirola is one of Costa del Sol’s most developed coastal towns. Aside from having a stretch of broad, sandy beaches along its 7 km coastline, the town also has a zoo, a waterpark, and a small amusement park for families to enjoy.
Shops in the Old Town
There are several fashionable clothing stores and intriguing tiny boutiques in the historic district, particularly in the area surrounding Plaza de la Constitución. Pick from one of the many high street stores, like Zara, Pull & Bear, and Benetton. There are also more upscale Spanish stores, such as the Don Miguel on the square across from the cathedral.
The municipal fruit, vegetable, meat, and fish market is close to the railway station. The main supermarkets are Cayetano (Euromarket) on the main road, Supersol and Mercadona, both close to the train station. Lidl has supermarkets and mini-marts. Certain OpenCor grocery stores are open till midnight.
The biggest commercial malls and hypermarkets are close to the mountainside, right off the main A-7 highway that bypasses Fuengirola. In the 1990s, stores including Euromarket, Hyper Andalucia, and Dunnes Stores were founded. These are currently overshadowed by the enormous indoor shopping mall Miramar Center.
Follow the rail route from Fuengirola to Los Boliches to discover the market. It is halfway between the two stations on the left side, going from Fuengirola.
One of the largest markets of its kind in Spain, the market takes up most of the enormous fairground. It is worth looking around because it is like an Aladdin’s cave of deals. This market includes brand-new and used clothing, furniture, antiques, curiosities, leather products, souvenirs, bric-a-brac, and more. Keep your valuables close to you and out of sight, as you should at any crowded street market, and be aware that pickpockets could be prowling the area.
