Colombia has several beaches, some known as the most beautiful in the world, especially in Cartagena, a city that brings a lot of historical facts. Islas del Rosario
With 23 islands, bays and islets, this beach on Colombia’s Coast has a beautiful view with coral reefs and fishes that you can see due to the crystal waters. The beach is 62 miles from the historic city of Cartagena, and you can get there by boat. Isla Baru
Located in South Cartagena, this island has a small population of 10 thousand habitants and a beautiful view with white sand, perfect for a sun bath and a quiet place for those who like to read by a crystal sea. It’s a place known by their reef that you can clearly see.
Here are some tips if you wanna visit the place: bring cash (some establishments accept card but you never know), and the best time for you to arrive is by morning, before noon or in the afternoon after 3PM. It’s a good place to dive. You can visit Playa Branca, one of the most beautiful beaches in Colombia, accessed by boat, and the Colombia’s National Aviary, a place where you can know several types of birds.
Isla Grande
It’s the biggest island in Archipiélago del Rosario, and you can rent a bike to arrive at this beautiful beach with crystal water and white sand. It also has coral reefs at the water’s soil, and you can see the mangrove of the vegetation. You can visit a place known as “Enchanted Lagoon”, a bioluminescent lagoon. Some tips if you wanna visit the place: take a lot of water to drink and stay hydrated during the day and you can easily get lost, so visit in a group or take a map.
Punta Arenas
Located in Tierra Bomba, this beautiful white sand’s strip has an urban view to Castillogrande, which is 7 minutes away by car. The blue ocean finds the city and you can have the beach for yourself, since not a lot of people visit this place. Also you can enjoy some seafood and refreshing drinks in this beach, sometimes offered by the residents themselves. If you’re a planner, you can book a trip to the island with lunch and transportation included, besides the time on the beach.
La Boquilla
If you like to know a little bit more about the history of the cities, this is the perfect ride for you. Near the historic center of Cartagena, this beach is perfect to get away from tourists and socialize with the residents and know a little bit more about the city and receive some tips of unknown places to visit, besides the lifestyle of the place. If you’re not in the mood to enjoy the beach, you can book a boat trip and visit the mangrove, which is perfect to connect with nature and a great place to photograph.
